Pratt Research Open House 2019
Join us on Saturday, March 30, 2019 for Pratt Research Open House, a free special event celebrating research in all its forms. Learn more about tools for archeological visualization, advanced methods for participatory community development and unique approaches to place-based storytelling. Engage with sustainable forms of building on land and water, innovative augmented technologies and a new materials archive for use by artists. Meet the inventors and see the research of myriad disciplines on display by Pratt faculty and students. Please bring your curiosity, ideas and appetite to our Research Open House, with inspiring events throughout the day and free food from local sponsors.
Schedule of Events
10am Welcome & Opening Talks (Student Union)
President Bronet will open the research celebration. She will be joined by Pratt leadership, visionary scientist Joan Fallon and Franklin Furnace founder/inimitable performance artist Martha Wilson.
11am–2pm Campus-wide Research Demos, Presentations & Talks
Guests are welcome to explore Pratt’s historic campus and learn about research ranging from innovating design incubation to robotic prototyping. The variety and impact of innovation in so many disciplines will be on display, demonstrated and shared.
2pm–3pm Research Awards Announced & Closing Remarks (Student Union)
Students, Alumni and Faculty will award prizes to research projects they observed throughout the day.
3pm–4pm Reception (Student Union)
Guests are invited to celebrate with light refreshments.
